a bit of news

Leisure Arts has agreed to allow me to release many of my out-of-print designs (that they still own) via PatternsOnLine.  I am very grateful (thank you, LA!), because there are quite a few of them, and I regularly get requests for them and/or questions about them from stitchers.

These designs run the gamut: from older patterns like Peacock Tapestry (which will have to be totally re-charted); designs that appeared in Just Cross Stitch magazine like Noah’s Ark and Fruit Bellpull, to newer pieces that more recently went out of print like Floral Bellpull and Tradewinds.  There are more than 30 of them.

Over the coming months, as I can get them re-charted (when needed) and re-formatted for download, I will be making them available.

Above the Clouds and Castle Ridge, two mini designs which most recently appeared in the Best of TW Fantasy Collection, vol.2.  are now available (because I could get them re-worked quickly).

But I’m not sure what should come next.  So, if you have a favorite design of mine that is no longer in print and you’d like to see it available in downloadable form soon, let me hear from you!   You can see a listing of Discontinued Designs on the old TW Designworks website.

Teresa – I am loving your re-releases. I found a copy of your unicorn pattern in a box of my mother’s stuff and have got all reenthused. I am going to attempt Pegsus next but i’d love to see a copy of the ‘Fantasy Triptych’ appear on patterns online. I’ve wanted to do it for years but haven’t been able to find a copy.

  2. Angela Reed says:

I would love to see Enchanter and Guardian re-released. I don’t know why I never bought the 2nd fantasy book with those. No rush though, I’ve got several other projects to keep me busy in the meantime.

  3. Lisa says:

Fantastic news 🙂 My vote is also for the Cloisonné Fruit Ornaments. They are almost mythical in my mind so to have them back in print would be amazing. I also need The Enchanter I know this design was in a book earlier but I never got round to buying it.

  4. charlie says:

    Wonderful news Teresa!

  5. Pat Cullen says:

Hi! congrats on the reprints.:) I know I don’t come by often (work in a quilt shop full time ) but I do think of you and have Snowdancer up on my sewing room wall. glad to see you continuing what you do so well. hugs, Pat Cullen

  6. Teresa, I’m so glad you’re going to be able to release some of your OOP charts! I was lucky enough to be gifted all four of your Carousel horses by another stitcher recently, but I really look forward to the re-charted Peacock Tapestry. There’s a Facebook group I belong to called The Stitchalong, and they have two TW SALs planned. The first was set up for The Fortunate Traveller starting May 1, 2013, but was expanded to include anyone wanting to stitch any TW design. The second starts June 15, 2014 focused on Peacock Tapestry or any other TW BAP. Do you think that Peacock Tapestry will be available by June of next year? Theresa

  7. Redcatlady says:

I didn’t know about this. The next time you have this, please try to include the Holly and the Ivy ornament you did with Jennifer Aiken-Smith if you can.

  8. Shalini says:

I rarely cross stitch any more but I would love to have an electronic version of Peacock Tapestry! I’m afraid of losing my paper copy and never finishing it. 10 yr old work in progress!

    • Kathy says:

Same here! I’ve charted mine by hand in PC Stitch but I’d buy an official one for sure. I’ve spent too long on it to risk messing it up.

  9. Nicole says:

    Lady of Shallot

  10. After tallying your responses, it appears that the next release will be Peacock Tapestry, followed by the Cloisonne Ornaments. The Seasonal Horses will come next, but I have permission so far to release only the Spring, Summer and Fall horses since Winter is still in print in the Best of TW Christmas Collection book. Thanks for all of your feedback!

  11. Joanne P says:

I suppose it’s too much to ask for a new version of You were Hatched? My son would love that and it’s virtually impossible to get hold of.

  12. Joanne P says:

The Carousel Horses would be my first choice!
Being able to get the older charts online may also take the rarity value off charts on Ebay too, make them available and affordable for everyone.

  13. Rahenna says:

Ooh, wow! I’d love Peacock Tapestry, Dragon Ride, and Fruit Bellpull! 🙂

  14. zndzant says:

This is wonderful news, but I wish POL would support MAC users like it did in the past. It only works for Windows now. 😦

    • As a Mac user myself, I agree with you, and was very disappointed when support was dropped. As far as I know, a version of the Pattern Viewer for Mac is still available (I use it occasionally), but I don’t know if it is compatible with newer versions of the MacOS. I use 10.4.11, so I’m not exactly up-to-date. E-mail me and I’ll try to help you out: an email link is in the sidebar.

  15. Terry says:

Teresa, this is such good news! Thank you Leisure Arts and thank you Teresa for asking them.
I would love to see the Christmas Ornaments as well as Peacock Tapestry or really any of them. They are all beautiful designs.

  16. stitchinkitty says:

A big thankyou to Leisure Ats.This news is almost as good as announcing a new TW design.

  17. Carol says:

No wishes at the moment.. but it is good news for those still searching for patterns! 🙂

  18. Irene says:

How wonderful. The Christmas Ornaments would be cool.

  19. Erin McCullough says:

I’d love to see the OOP ornaments!

  20. zadiana says:

I was always sorry I missed out on getting the four seasonal carousel horses when they were out. I would also love the four seasonal fairies. 🙂 I think I have almost all your other charts. 🙂

  21. Jennifer says:

Yay! I’ve been wanting to do the Peacock Tapestry for a long time. I’ve been putting it off hoping for a better chart. I can’t wait to see what other goodies you will be releasing!

  22. Ceryddwen says:

Huzzah! Obviously I’d like to add many OOP TW to my stash, but my first priority would be the seasonal carousel horses as my treasured book of all 4 patterns met a traumatic demise when I foolishly left it within reach of my dogs…

  23. Jan Jones says:

Terrific news!!! I vote for Peacock Tapestry also. I have alot of the original hand drawn kits (1995-ish) and leaflets so whatever you rechart will be good news for me.

  24. Silverlotus says:

That’s really wonderful, Teresa. I’ve managed to collect all your charts (except for a couple from the CreativFestival that I didn’t go to because of the wool-content in the kits). I’m glad the charts will be much easier to find in the future.

  25. jenharper says:

I vote for Peacock Tapestry as even though I own the chart, I’m about to start it this month, and I would love a computer generated chart to work from even if it means changing the chart halfway through stitching it.

  26. Lynnette Winkelman says:

I have most of your designs from years past that appeared in Just CrossStitch. I started Peacock Tapestry so long ago and never finished it because it was so hard to read. I would love to have the pattern in computerized form so I could finish it. Thank you Teresa for all your designs. You have given me many hours of stitching enjoyment.

    Lynnette Winkelman

  27. Maria says:

Amazing, wonderful (and generous of LA!!) news! I already have collected the designs, some of them more than once but I will still collect them digitally – some of them just to have the change from hand-drawn. I have no special request or order of preference. I have enough TW wips to keep me going for quite a while. I just wanted to celebrate the news and to let you know, whatever you choose to do in whatever order I will be waiting to collect it (again!!).

  28. Thanks for posting and voting everyone; I really appreciate the feedback. I’m getting an idea of which direction to go next!

  29. rifestitch says:

WooHoo! Great news! I would love to finally have Peacock Tapestry – it’s the one that I missed that I really wish I had to make the collection complete 🙂

  30. Dima says:

This is amazing news! I vote for Peacock Tapestry. I finally managed to track down the pattern on ebay from an old kit, but a computer chart will definitely be easier to read.

  31. Shirley Crockett says:

Wonderful news, Teresa! I have always wanted to stitch the Floral and Fruit Bellpulls. Now, maybe I will get that chance.
    Shirley Crockett

  32. Nic says:

Ooh, that is good news. I know celestial dragon is one I always had on my list but didn’t get around to buying.
Guardian I managed to track down several years ago when it was available only in a kit, but I remember it was popular and hard to find, so I’m sure plenty of others would love that one.
Storyteller is another that I’d love to make, but I can’t remember if I managed to find a copy last time I was looking, so a rerelease would be super 🙂
I’ve been getting the urge to stitch again lately (had a large break and have been knitting a quilting instead). This post makes me think I should dust off Minstrel and finish it.

  33. patty sahli says:

I’d love to see the Carousel Horses for all seasons…I have WInter, but never got the other three…I also would love Noah’s Ark and the Christmas Ornaments and the Lady of Shallot…

  34. Lindsay says:

I’m not voting cause I’ve got them all but that is really good news and means should I ever be brave enough to try stitching PT I won’t go grey quite so quick 🙂

  35. rocalisa says:

I’d love to be able to get The Enchanter, please.

  36. Wonderful news!!! I would vote also for Peacock Tapestry and Cloisonné Ornaments! Thank you LA and Teresa!

  37. Jenny says:

Wow!! Did you know you have a group on Facebook for your designs, and I’d posted in there a couple of weeks ago about how I could transform PT into a computer generated chart, and I’d just accepted doing it from the hand drawn chart, but I’ll vote for PT and I’ll wait for it to be available!!!! Thanks Teresa, you are a gem! Going over to post a link to this blog post right now!

  38. seeford says:

Wow -that is great news! I vote for the Cloisonné Fruit Ornaments!

  39. seeford says:

Wow, that is great news! I vote for the Cloisonné Fruit Ornaments!

  40. Evaine says:

The Guardian and Dragon Ride, please! I am a dragon girl! 🙂

    What wonderful news!!

  41. Zeusgirl says:

This is excellent news!!! Thank you, Leisure Arts!!!

The designs I’m most excited to see available through POL are Peacock Tapestry, the cloisonné ornaments, the seasonal faeries, and seasonal carousel horses.
